Language learning from ages 0-100 in Guernsey

Accent is a language school with over 25 years’ experience, positioned on the gorgeous island of Guernsey. The second largest of the Channel Islands, Guernsey offers a fascinating mix of British and French cultures, with amazing scenery and a quirky culture all of its own. It’s a place where in some ways you can feel you have stepped back in time to a quieter, gentler world, but under your feet you can feel the beating pulse of a global financial centre.

In this unique setting, Accent welcomes students of all ages to its language programmes. The Babies and Toddlers programme (0-3 years) introduces its youngest learners to a different language in a fun way, through its award-winning method BilinguaSing.

Pre-school children (3-5 years) can use their most receptive years for language to learn through storytelling, song and play, while children of primary school age (5-11 years) can build language skills, cultural awareness and confidence in one of the island’s primary schools. Using a mixture of BilinguaSing, the DEFL programme and bespoke materials created by the experts at Accent Guernsey.

As well as the unique provision for very young learners, Accent Guernsey has a thriving  English language programme in the summer months for students over 11 years of age. Young learners of secondary school age can receive support with their important exams alongside their language training, and join clubs and preparation courses to develop a range of skills. There is even a specific package for students learning English for their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

For adults, a range of English language classes and clubs are available to students of all ages, throughout the year. Accent believes it is never too late to learn a language, and offers private, semi-private and group classes to those who would like to develop their language skills and experience while visiting this truly special island.
